Gifts For Good Day 10: Café Art My London Calendar

It's pretty fair to say that a lot of people are quite looking forward to putting 2016 behind us. Looking forward to 2017 and it's related new calendar requirements there is no lack of choice. However very few are as special as these calendars. Every year Café Art put around one hundred disposable cameras in the hands of the cities homeless community.

Over five days the photographers go and collect images of their perspective of the city. The results are an eclectic mix of photographs of life in the city not often seen. The best thirteen (twelve months and a cover shot) are chosen by a panel of judges and made into a calendar. The resulting images truly are wonderful. Often depicted are a vibrant array of people and the urban landscape loaded with personality.

The sales of the calendars are then up amongst the photographers but also members of the homeless community earn money from selling the calendars at London locations. You can check them out at cafeart.org.uk or head over to Old Spitalfields Market to meet the guys in person.
