Homeless World Cup: Special Edition T Shirts

  In celebration and support of The Homeless World Cup tournament taking place in Glasgow this July, Hopeful Traders have teamed up with the Homeless World Cup Organisation to release two special editions of the Hopeful Traders Originals T Shirts. The T shirts will come in the bright bold red of The Homeless World Cup and the sleek black of the Hopeful Traders logo. The pundits are expecting the pairing to form the kind of strike partnership that can set a tournament alight. David Tovey: Turning My Life Around

Support from the likes of Pilion Trust, Café Art and Clothing The Homeless have helped Hopeful Trader designer, David Tovey improve his life dramatically. Hopeful World: Lolly Galvin, Founder of Dignity Project - Philadelphia

Hi Lolly, what is Dignity Project all about? Dignity Project is about sharing the faces and stories of those who are homeless. There is a mindset that homeless people either "want" to be there or "deserve" to be there and we use social media to show how easily it can be in America to fall on hard times and become homeless. I also give out dignity bags that contain essentials such as razors, soap, tissues etc. Their gratitude for these simple things can be heartbreaking.    Whereabouts are you based and who are you working with? Hopeful News: A Moment of Magic

A Moment of Magic Hopeful Traders designer David Tovey sums up life on the streets quite succinctly, ‘Homelessness is loneliness, it’s segregation and pain. You get spat at and treated like shit basically.’ David had an incredibly tough time when he was homeless, but he also looks back and remembers some special moments. ‘One time I was walking up Hackney way and all the leaves had blown and got stuck all the way up the fencing around some tennis courts.
